The Detroit Future Media Guide to Digital Literacy is out! This beautifully designed guide presents reflections and resources from three years of media-based organizing for community revitalization through the Detroit Future Media program.
The 72-page guidebook introduces the concept of "digital literacy" and its role in community revitalization. It provides a history of the Detroit Future Media program and its impact, core ideas, program structure, and curriculum samples for you to use and adapt.
Earlier this Summer, Detroit Future Media graduated its third class of "Detroit Futurists" – Detroiters who are committed to using media and technology for a more just, creative, and collaborative city.
Please join us June 8th at 12PM at Allied Media Projects (4126 3rd St, Detroit, MI) for a day of celebrations to mark the end of another year of media making for a more just and creative world. The day will include a potluck lunch, graduation ceremony and a gallery of final projects created by students in Detroit Future Media (DFM) and Detroit Future Schools (DFS).

The James and Grace Lee Boggs School was a host of a Detroit Future Media apprentice in 2012 and is one of our closest partners in our work for transformative education in Detroit. We are thrilled to announce that they are set to open their doors for the 2013-2014 school year.
Detroit Future Media is looking for organizations and small businesses who have a desire to develop effective digital media strategies incorporating web, graphics, or video. You are invited to host a DFM apprentice who will help your organization improve its online presence.
