About

At Awasqa (“weave” or “knitting” in Kichwa)/the Green Network Project we seek to create an international communications network and build a sustainable world by breaking linguistic barriers between indigenous communities in the Northern and Southern hemispheres, to share stories of resilience, knowledge and good practices, and foster a new vision of hope and a deep intergenerational change.

We recognize that our communities have inherited social and environmental ailments, product of colonialism, extractivism and unsustainable practices that see Mother Earth / Pachamama as an unlimited resource. These same communities are among the most vulnerable to the climate crisis, yet, hold much of the wisdom and resilience the world community needs to protect our planet.

We believe that the survival of sustainable communities, and all life on earth, depend on a paradigm shift that transforms us collectively from victims into visionaries, from defenders to architects of change.
