Consentful Tech Zine

This zine is intended for anyone who uses, makes, or is affected by digital technologies and wants to build a more consentful world. 

Apps like Uber track our location even when we are not using them. Biometric data is shared across government databases, with particularly disproportionate and ominous consequences for disabled people, immigrants, and poor people. Threats of sexual assault circulate on Twitter and routinely go unchecked.

How might the technologies we rely on operate if they were designed within a culture of consent?

Consent is about having control over our digital bodies — our personal data that, like physical bodies, exist in relationship with others, can participate in communities, and can experience harm. Using and building upon frameworks, ideas and definitions from consent culture, design and digital justice, and community technology, this zine introduces questions and suggestions for developing and using the technologies that shape our daily lives.
