“What Makes Me ME?” Zine

People in Education’s (PIE) “What Makes Me ME?” was inspired by middle schoolers from Burton International Academy, inviting youth to explore who they are through this interactive and playful workbook. PIE is a media arts organization that facilitates space for connection, curiosity and reflection. Media artists-in-residence are brought into learning spaces to facilitate student-led investigations and their research culminates into collaborative media projects. This compilation of the questions developed by students are “questions that kids actually want to answer” and are similar to the popular personality quizzes found online or in magazines. The project was created by one of PIE’s teaching artists from their 2020 Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program, Cyrah Dardas, in partnership with Burton middle school teacher, Yexenia Vanegas.
