Patrice Lawrence from UndocuBlack and Jennicet Gutierrez from Familia TQLM discuss being undocumented people of color in Americain a conversation mdoerated by Moderated by Damon Williams and Daniel Kisslinger of the Chicago-based podcast AirGo. They speak to how their organizations are providing necessary resources while working towards liberation. Jennicet pointed out the specific challenges that trans immigrants face, and Patrice discussed the challenges of Black immigrants—both communities living at the intersection of discriminations whose voices are often marginalized within the broader public conversation about immigration. Damon and Daniel prompt Patrice and Jennicet to reflect on how bravery and courage show upin their own work, and in the undocumented commuities the work with. They finalized by sharing their “freedom dreams” for a liberated futures.
