Create NED is excited to present the “Explore Northeast Detroit Tour” on October 22nd, highlighting the vibrant resident-led movement that has been transforming District 3 through art, agriculture, and community activism. Create NED, an initiative supported by ArtPlace America, activates residents in Northeast Detroit to utilize art, design, and technology in a neighborhood planning process for their community.
District 3 is rich in community power. Hundreds of block clubs, churches, community organizations and businesses have held the social fabric of the neighborhood together for decades in the face of economic divestment and municipal neglect. Over the past year, Create NED has continued to build on grassroots efforts to revitalize District 3 through community festivals, landscape architecture projects, and resident-led community transformation projects.
Join us to learn more about the on-the-ground projects and organizations that are supporting equitable and creative development in Northeast Detroit. The Explore Northeast Detroit Tour will take place on October 22nd, from 10:30am – 3:00pm.
Tour highlights include:
- The Historic Village of Norris
- District 3 Harvest Market at Shield of Faith
- Pingree Farms at Milton Manufacturing
- Art and Technology at Talking Dolls Studio
