Every year the Allied Media Conference presents musical acts and performances exploring the intersection of art and social change. This year, we organized “AMC @ Night,” an expanded, five-day music showcase supported by the Knight Arts Challenge. While the AMC brings together media makers, artists and activists for three days of hands-on workshops, panels and networking, the conference’s nighttime events are where AMCers come together and connect on the dance floor.
At AMC2015, nine different nighttime events took place over five days at venues throughout the city, showcasing both local and national acts such as THEESatisfaction, Las Cafeteras, Passalacqua, Stacey Hotwaxx Hale, and Monty Luke. We worked with Cass Corridor Films to capture some of the highlights.

“AMC At the Party”

THEESatisfaction “QueenS”
THEESatisfaction is a Seattle-based experimental R&B group who released their second album EarthEE in 2015. Watch their performance of “QueenS” at the Saturday night music showcase at MOCAD.
Passalacqua “Been a Minute”
Passalacqua is a Detroit-based hip-hop duo who released their EP “Banglatown” in 2015. Check out their performance of “Been a Minute” which features a guest appearance by a confetti cannon.
Las Cafeteras “Ya Me Voy”
Las Cafeteras band members hail from Los Angeles and collectively create music that fuses spoken word, folk music, with traditional Son Jarocho, Afro-Mexican music and zapateado dancing. Hear them perform “Ya Me Voy”.
