Issue #3: Design Justice for Action

Published by the Design Justice Network (DJN), “Design Justice for Action” is a zine focused on how designers can support social justice. It is the third in a series of five zines intended to share the principles of design justice, and to support efforts to put these principles into practice across a broad range of contexts, locations, and communities. It was edited by Sasha Costanza-Chock and designed by Una Lee, Victoria Barnett and Taylor Stewart.

DJN uses design to imagine and build the worlds we need to live in — worlds that are safer, more just, and more sustainable. DJN advance practices that center those who are normally excluded from and adversely impacted by design decisions in design processes. DJN does this by following processes and creating work that is rooted in shared principles of design justice, growing our network of design practitioners and advocates, convening to maintain and deepen our connections, creating critical publications, and curating exhibitions.
